Kitajima Buddhist Altar Shop

Mikawa Buddhist altars are rare traditional crafts with a history of over 500 years. They are well known all over Japan. In addition to seeing finished Buddhist altars, you can observe the manufacturing process. (Reservations are required for tours.)

Roots of Ishikawa Museum

In 1872, the prefectural government office was temporarily set up in the former Mikawa Town, from which the prefecture name "Ishikawa" is said to have originated. Here you can find a reproduction of the former governor's office called "Ishikawa-no-Roots-kan," an Okaeri festival area, and Tedori River and Kitamae ship exhibition rooms. This museum provides a lot of information about the town.
