Strolling around Tsurugi

As the location of Shirayama Hime Jinja Shrine, the Tsurugi area has kept its old traditions alive. There are many fermented-product businesses, such as sake breweries and soy-sauce manufacturers. You can enjoy strolling in an atmosphere of traditional culture.

Tsurugi Station

Take the train from Kanazawa Station to Nishi-Kanazawa Station (one stop), and then take the Hokuriku Railway Ishikawa Line to Tsurugi (about 23 min).

Shirayama Hime Jinja Shrine

This is the head shrine of about 3,000 Hakusan shrines in Japan, where Kukurihime is enshrined as the guardian goddess of Mt. Hakusan. She is known as the goddess of marriage.

Shishiku Heights

A gondola takes you up to the top of the heights. Pancakes and other treats are served in the café, which has a panoramic view of the beautiful alluvial fan. If you make a reservation, you can experience paragliding here.

At this brewery, which has a history of about 230 years, you can taste Hakusan Kikusake. Near the brewery, you will find a soy-sauce store and a malted-rice store.
